I bought a baby bearded dragon from petsmart exactly 1 month ago on Thursday. They told me he was 2 months old. He seemed so tiny then, but has gotten longer and bigger since I have had him. He has been to the vet and given a clean bill of health. Fecal testing and all.
My question is this….
He is 12” long and .59 grams. Is he normal sized or is he growing fast? Or did they have the age wrong?

I am posting a pic of him from the fist day I saw him in the bearded dragon enclosure at petsmart and the most recent pic I took of him today…

What do y'all think?

He looks to be around that age - to keep him on track he needs correct surface basking temps and good uvb-- No coils-- long tube fixture- those temps need to be taken w/ a digital probe thermometer- please ask if you have questions or need help- I can help you get all this on par

He has proper UVB and basking light. I do not use coil anything. I have multiple different kinds of thermometers in the tank for reference. I check his temps often with . A probe thermometer (you can't see it in the pic) and infrared surface thermometer. He has proper diet, poops regularly at the same time everyday. Has plenty of hides and gradient temps to support. His husbandry isn't an issue. I have that up to par, thank you for the offer to help though.

I was just wondering about his size because he was jet black and scrawny in the petsmart ( I posted a pic) and he has been bright orange and red since I have had him and never gets dark anymore and he's a lot bigger now. Just was wondering if it was normal for them to grow so fast once getting proper care.

Yep that can happen - the dark was him trying to absorb heat I am thinking
