ok i have just read on a different forum about the powersun MVB bulb and toothless has ben having the same problems too we have the solor glo from exo-terra but he started closing his eyes and gaping in his basking area temps was still good but then he started hiding thought it was cuz he was new to the surrounding but now reading this i think it was the bulb so if u got the bulb u might want to keep an eye on your little ones too cuz we r learning the hard way now cuz he was fine and like a light switch he stopped eating wont keep his eyes open and just laying there we r having to force feed him and hope he pulls thru without and long term damage thanks for adding too cuz newbies like us need to know about stuff like this

I have a powersun for the past 3 weeks and have had no problem yet. It was what the breeder we got Sahara from was using. She eats fine, gets herself into the basking area and out when she needs to. I hope toothless is doing better.

Hi Toothless

Sounds like your little one has a problem that is similar to welders flash in Humans. If you remove the bulb (Solar glo bulbs have had a lot of issues) and either replace it with another MVB or switch to a linear bulb he sound come around. If you need to leave him with out UVB for a day or two he should be ok. Once you remove the bulb you should see a chaneg fro the better within 12 hours.

Hope this helps.

i know it shouldnt effect beardies but anyway i have a similar story...my bearded dragon uses the zoomed powersun and she became a spazz and i could tell it effected her vision.too much uv can burn a reps eyes out...just be safe and house them in a larger enclosure(at least a 40 gal breeder) w a regualr zoomed or zilla striplight added to the setup for good measure.ive noticed by experimentation that it works better and improved the behavior of my animal...be sure to not allow it to have a spot too close to the bulb as well along with a cooler side where their food should be to prevent the veggies or fruit from drying out too quickley...mine would have no common sense and sit under the dome all day without accepting water or greens and shed be stubborn and dehydrated...shes a little better with her attitude but the baby one i bought almost a year after her will eat and drink anything
