Although relatively new to this forum, I am an experienced reptile and amphibian keeper (primarily geckos, beardies, and chameleons and too many frogs/toads to count). However, I've never encountered this behavior! My current dragon has taken to moving some substrate into his pool to create a mud bath. It is intentional (I have watched him do it), but sometimes more thick than others. He'll keep the bowl clean for a day or two while he soaks and drinks, and then creates mud with every water change for a few days. After three or four days, he'll keep it clean for another couple of days. He really seems to enjoy this behavior and is otherwise healthy and normal acting. Does anyone else who maintains a bio-active enclosure (or other dirt-type substrate) see this behavior or do I just have a dragon who has created a fun adventure for himself?
