Hi all! I've been a lurker on this forum for years, but this is the first time I'm posting. Super excited to get to talk to some fellow beardie enthusiasts! My current beardie's name is Guinevere Grape, or just Grape.
I am from Georgia, and in the fall I will be moving out of state for the first time, all the way to Utah. I am posting on here to get some feedback on what other people typically have done when moving with their beardies. I've had a couple ideas so far, but just want to know what really works best.
1. Driving with her in the car: Does anyone have a recommended traveling light or heat setup for a temporary home in my car so that I could just bring her with me? The drive is about 27 hours, so it will be several days on the road and I obviously couldn't just bring her in her regular heated carrier.
2. Flying with her after I've moved my stuff in: Any advice on how to fly with a lizard? Is it possible to bring her as a "carry-on" so that she could stay in the passenger compartment with me, and would a heating pad be an issue?
3. Shipping: I really don't want to have to do this one because in this case I would have to rely on my family to pack her up from their home, and while I love and trust them, I want to do as much as I can myself so that she's as safe as possible.
Hopefully you guys can help! This is probably my biggest worry about moving so far.
