Kai got a bigger tank today...it is 75 gallons and thats the biggest I can go. He got a new reptisun T5 high output 24" size for larger terrariums. I changed out the dual deep dome lamp for a single brand new deep dome lamp. My question is is a 100 watt repti sun basking spot lamp sufficient or does he need a 150 watt? I still have to get a digital probe today or tomorrow but i have no clue how to use one and they all seem to plug in. Is there a battery operated model? Btw he loved the silkworms...chowed down 4 in addition to his collard greens, bell pepper, dandelion leaves and celeey leaves. Hes not warm enough yet in the new tank because I just plugged in the new lamp but hes not stressed at all right now. Help! Re the heat lamp source. Also is that a big enough fixture for his basking spot? I want to continue to use a deep dome if possible because I dont want a fire in my grandsons room.

Ok please get the digital probe thermometer thats going to tell you the wattage your need - and it looks too close for range - the basking bulb needs to be at least 6 " over the basking decor or he will get burned -- Zoo Med makes them they look like this --
