I went on vacation last Friday and came home for two days only to leave again. I miss my babies so much that we went to Petsmart yesterday to play with the beardies and chameleons!

Dexter and Luci are pros at being home alone for a few days, this is our first time leaving Bumble (the cham) so I'm a little nervous to see how he did.

I wish mine was that nice! He will sit and look at me and listen to me talk to him but the minute the cage opens he high tails it to the back! We've had him for 3 months and I've held him 3 times! I'm hoping he warms up soon.

It took I would say 6-8-months of not bothering him at all just to mist him twice a day clean twice a day and feed three times a day as he was a baby then all of a sudden I left the door open to feed him and he popped out and up my arm and there he stayed from that point on-when ever I opened the door he made a run for it and if I beat him and closed the door oh boy he bearded me something awful until I opened it again and he got his way-then he was happy=on Mommies shoulder for the day-river-7

They are the only reptile that knows when they need UVB-and they go straight for it. I also had a Blue bar and he was totally fightened all the time the most I could do was pet his head now and again. And when he shed boy he would hide and stay that way until he finished shedding. But he would let me blow the shed off-of him. river-7

He lets me rub his back and he will use my hand as a stepping stone to get to another branch but that's about it right now. We had a break thru today though, he hasn't been eating his crickets so I decided to give him one of the dragon's large super worms. I put it in a bowl and held it under him and he ate it. I've been trying to hand feed him for awhile now, this was the first time he actually went for it without being skeptical.

I'm off a lot this coming week so Im going to work with keeping his cage open and giving him a way to wander out on his own.

Keep an eye on your cords and wires as they somehow love those and can get burned from their own lights. Sometimes they will go to get warm and wind up badly burned.I had to buy a pole for my cham; as he would not stay away from the heat lamp.He almost burned his nose twice. So with the pole he had no close access to the light other then what he needed.I had the screened top and sides for my cham; and I found his temps were perfect all the time. There is an article on 1-of the cham forums about their d-3-and plain calcium, if I remeber correctly they only get it once a month but I would not trust what i'm saying as it a few years ago but I do know I read something about that and his calcium dosing I had to write down. But once trained they are beautiful animals and I do miss mine.Good luck while your off with him he will get to know you better-PS my veiled ate dandelion greens and that is uncommon but I offered and he ate them, and loved his worms which I gave him 3-4times a week and I never expected him to eat veggies.Enjoy your time with him and get some rest-river-7

Mine LOVES veggies too. I heard they don't really this guy does. I feed him the same things I feed the bearded dragons This week he is getting butternut squash and collards. I put the bowl in the cage in the morning and when I come home for lunch all the squash is gone!

They love worms; and mine liked meal-worms as well, horns, and sometimes he would eat silks but he was not fussy on them.I never tried him on supers as he was just 5-6-weeks old when I got him.river-7

no everyone say's they don't like veggies but I guess if you don't offer you will never know. Mine just loved them and all kinds. Basically I fed the same veggies as I did my dragon's at that time.It is uncommon for them to eat them. My blue bar would not touch them, no matter what I offered or what I put in the salad he would not eat veggies. He loved his worms and I tried the old trick but he was to smart and got the worms without the salad. lol-river-7
