Mini-Superworms for a Baby?

I've had my beardie for 6 days know, only truly eating two of the days, and he is 2-3 months old. The two days he ate were the crickets from something called "Cricket Box" or "Bug Box" (pinheads). He ate two or three crickets those days. He refuses to eat the new crickets I bought. Anyway, I bought these super worms that were so called Mini or small superworms by vita bugs timberline. He ate two, no more, but I was relieved that he ate at all. Are these safe for him to eat a lot of until he starts eating crickets again? They might be a tad bit bigger than the space between his eyes, although they were quite an old box and might have grown a little. He's been going to the bathroom every day.

Most people recommend staying away from super worms until the beardie is a bit larger. They can be hard for little ones to digest. I would keep an eye on his poop to make sure everything seems to be passing okay. Aside from this encourage him to bask for at least 2 hours after eating them to ensure proper digestion and keep him well hyderated. Since they are small supers he may be able to handle them just fine.

I would obtain more crickets or another healthier feeder as soon as possible even if you believe he's handling the supers just fine. They are much more fattening than other feeders and not really a good staple in my opinion for a small growing dragon. They can also be addicting and may cause your dragon to refuse other healthier foods

Ok thanks. Any tips on how to keep him hydrated? He doesn't drink straight from the water bowl naturally, I do mist him once or twice a day though. I think he is way to stressed to take a bath.

When you mist him squirt a few drops on his snout and see if he will lick it off. They obtain moisture from their greens and insects as well so if he doesn't lick the drops no worries he may not be thirsty. But at least offer it this way 2-3x a day

Yea I've see him do that once or twice. I also spray it on the walls to see if he licks it off. He eats no greens, doesn't even recognize them as food

it takes little guys a bit to figure out that greens are food. keep offering - eventually he will eat them. probably. my girl goes through phases - some tmies she will, sometimes she wont. sometimes she will only eat cucumber sometimes diced pea pods. he probably wont drink out of his bowl - they dont recognize standing water as something to drink. have you tried bathing him? my boy will sometimes drink out of his bath water.

As canicke suggested just continue offering the greens everyday. He should eventually try them out. As far as spraying inside the tank how is the humidity? The main reason many of us do not use water bowls and mist them in the tank is because it tends to raise humidity levels. You don't want them to be too much higher than 40%
If you are not comfortable giving baths this soon you can continue to mist him 2x a day outside of his Viv and offer drops of water this way.

Humidity is pretty low in the terrarium, normally 15-20 percent, misting might raise it a slight bit for a very short time, and yes I mist him 2 times a day.

Sounds perfect than [emoji108]during this time of year mine tends to drop a little too low as well, you misting him inside of it may help keep it in a good range

They also go through some relocation stress. Even though they seem fine the first few days, it takes them about 2 weeks to adjust to their new surroundings. They may stop eating as they are getting settled in. Don't handle him more than you have to in this time so that he has a chance to get used to you and to his new home.

You've been given good advise, take it slowly in time greens should get eaten, as long as he/she is eating some bugs they are getting moisture, misting and once settled bath time. Both of mine will drink water when it's running or when I dribble some on their noses...
