Hi I’m going to be purchasing a melamine for my beardies,it’s going to be a 2x2x2, what would be the adequate lighting?
A 2x2x2 is not big enoug. They need at least 75 gallons but I recommend 120 or 4x2x2 here are some good ones. And for the lighting you need a 24 inch reptile 10.0 t5 bulb. And a 50 to 100 wat heat bulb here are the enclosures.Hi I’m going to be purchasing a melamine for my beardies,it’s going to be a 2x2x2, what would be the adequate lighting?
Also bearies? You can not keep more than bearded dragon in the same enclosure. It’s can work in very very rare things. But please play it save espeasily don’t put to males in. Within a week I am 99% sure that one of them would be deadHi I’m going to be purchasing a melamine for my beardies,it’s going to be a 2x2x2, what would be the adequate lighting?
Are you housing one bearded dragon or two? And as stated below dragons should NEVER be housed together-- a 2x2x2 tank is not big enough you want at least 75 gallon or a 120 --- that is adequate for a full size dragon ONE -- I can help you w/ lighting --- NO coils -- you want a tube fixture like a Zoo Med Sunblaster or a Arcadia w/ a Reptisun 10.0 bulb T 5 preferably or Arcadia 12 % Desert bulbHi I’m going to be purchasing a melamine for my beardies,it’s going to be a 2x2x2, what would be the adequate lighting?

They are too short -- not enough floor space- you want at least 4ft long height and width is fine-- your dragons would go claustrophobicI was thinking of geting 2 of them , and puting1 beardie in each one,I was also thinking of building like a second story for them. These are pictures of the enclosure
I would go w/ a T 5 w/ a tank 40+ gallons- it needs to have a height of 18" for a T 5 -- the T 5 is a stronger bulb and distance and placement is different from the T 8's - the T 8's need to be inside the tank w/ NO obstruction -- they also need to be changed out every 6 months versus the T 5 w/ once a year - both I recommend one month prior to expiration -- the T 5 can also sit on top of the screen BUT it must be a screen of wide hole type -- fine mesh like a screen door it would then need to go inside the tank --- screens filter out approx 30% of the UVB rays --Ok thanks for the advice , I didn’t end up geting the enclosures, but I’m interested in getting them a uvb strip , should I get the T8 or T5 ? What’s the difference ?
Reptisun or a Arcadia 12% desert both are really good bulbs--- the 12% desert is considered a T 5 and should be used for a 40+ gallon tank--- w/ heights of 18 inches -- if it's a 16" height then I would go w/ a T 8 simply because of distances it needs to beOk thanks but if I get a T8 what type of bulb should i get? &if I get a T5 what type of bulb should I get?
