Be prepared to ship back that bulb, though. They should have one out to you by Friday.

sorry that happened.. anything different ? Was that gellen's or ?
Nothing different, this morning it just blew out out of nowhere...its housed in the right ceramic fixture and whatnot...it was franks, jelly's cage isnt setup for a MVB (basking spot would be too close)
I smeared vasoline around the screw of each bulb, mvb or otherwise before placing them into the fixtures.. I found that my house tends to have a higher humidity level than most, since I don't use central heat/air. Try that and see if it helps with the next one.
Just an idea..

It's just a precaution... Also makes it way easier to remove those bulbs without breaking them.
Not sure if there is a fire hazard using that though.

Mine just burned out after 2 days :-( Yes, they are wauranteed but you have to pay cost to ship back :-( Personally, I am not super excited to drag my giant pregnant self and my 3 year old to the post office to return a defective bulb, but that's a personal problem :-/
I was told that I have to write a LETTER explaining in full detail why the bulb burned out. I little crazy if you ask me. I can deal with the shipping back of the bulb but the letter? Also they gave me a hard time because I didn't have the original box. The guy said, "you will need the original box because we like to recycle them" I like to recycle too so I obviously don't have it. Love the bulb but the return policy is not so great.
