Hope everyone's Easter weekend was good, we have 2 new additions this week and a wee bit of a story which goes along with them so be warned this is a long post.

This is Sheldore and Betty two bearded dragons whom were living together at their previous home. They are quite small for their given ages 2 years for the female and 18 months for the male and am unsure how much if any UVB they have had. They were at least getting calcium but were both living in a 2ft vivarium which isn't even enough room for one adult beardie let alone 2.

They had been purchased for a young boy who had lost interest in them, the family had no idea what sex they were and judging by the defensive way they are in the cage they haven't been handled very much either.

Although I really was looking for a baby beardie to watch it grow up I just couldn't say no to these two who were so obviously in need of a loving home. Everyone deserves a second chance.

Hoping to get these two into as top condition as I can and will keep you all updated with their progress :)

Aww! They're cute. Good luck with them both. It seems they do need some TLC. :D

Hello and Welcome to BDF. Your double rescue is going to really keep you busy. Make sure they are separated. Housing beardies together is a no no. It is so important that we, as beardie owners, provide the proper housing for our little creatures. One of the other moderators will post some good reading on beardies and their care. Sounds like you are on the right track. You will be amazed on how they will 'fatten' up with the proper care. You have have done a good thing. Good luck and keep us all posted. ;)

Yes indeed....they are looking good. It will take some time to have a couple of 'chunky monkeys' but sounds like they are lovin' life!!
