OK, new dragon is here - my first! Meet Calvin. Consider these "before" photos. This is what he came with. He is 3 or 4 years old.

Good things:
- He is easily handleable and hung out on me and took greens from my hand. <3
- He eats veggies.
- He has regularly been fed crickets and dubia roaches.
- He has been given calcium.
- He does have a water dish.
- He doesn't appear to look horrible to me physically like some I've seen but I don't have experience! I think he looks a little skinny. What do you think?? You know far more than I do.
- He is cute. ;)

Bad things:
- Repticarpet with calci-sand underneath. (Not much though.)
- All in one UVB/basking lamp.
- His cage is really dirty. It's also only 36 x 18 x 18 ish.
- He was fed crap pellets as well, most likely this more often than fresh veg. but who knows. He took greens readily today!
So...
- I have a Reptisun T5 10.0 tube coming in the mail.
- I will get him a new basking light tomorrow
- I need thermometer probes for warm and cool
- He will get a major cage clean and real branches, and some slate.
- He will get a 4 foot tank - I'm looking to get a 100 gallon one from craigslist. (48 x 18 x 27)
- Vet appt is next week.

Questions will follow, I'm sure! Please comment on his condition.
The colors in the pics are a weird green from the light. He is actually a nice yellow with gray markings. The video is more accurate on color. He is eating dandelion greens in the video. :)

He seemed to want out so I let him. He looked to burrow under a pillow so I put a blanket over him and he was calm and happy. Is that typical dragon to want to be covered?

I think he will like a soil/sand mixed substrate he can dig in.

He looks to be in good shape from the pictures so that's good! It is normal for them to "dig" to get comfy when it is night time to nap.. I really wouldn't get loose substrate just too risky to get a build up of it in his gut..Love that he's a cuddle bug already with you!! He looks like my Simon

I give all of mine soft blankets/fleece under their hides for them to dig in to get comfy and when they are out on my chest I cover them with a fleece..my 2 adults Izzy and Simon like to be fully covered... now my Cooper hates to be covered he will fight to get out he likes to nap and look around while out before bedtime.

Oh so you put blankets in the hide! OK, so that's normal. It's super cute. I'm excited to snuggle with him in a blanket. :)

So he doesn't look skinny? Cool! I am hoping the vet gives him a clean bill of health. They could have been doing FAR worse compared to so many posts I've seen.

I already love him! Done. LOL

This is more accurate on color.

LOOK HOW CUTE HE IS

He looks great! Mine don’t really like soft blanets much. My boy likes to dig under his rug in his hide so I put some strips of an old soft shirt in it. He still dogs under the carpet LOL!

The tank he’s in doesn’t look too awful in regards to size according to the picture. Thanks for kind of rescuing him! Rescues are the best :)

I'm happy he looks OK! I was worried that he'd be a wreck, since I've seen so many horror stories here. Also happy he likes to be handled. :)

The tank he's in isn't bad for size, I just feel like he could use another foot of length.

I just cleaned up his tank. It was so gross!

He also had a poop this morning - the urates were really white, which is a good sign re: hydration, correct?

Glad he is doing well and adjusting well..they are soo easy to fall in love with! such personalities they have. I'm glad that he is now with you they made a good decision on giving him up to someone like you that has more time for him.. Glad his urates are nice and white that is a good thing.

Got a clear bill of health from the vet! Whoop! You guys were right.

I got a 4 foot T5HO but sent it back as the 36 will be easier to mount in the tank. When that gets here (plus screen top) and I get the temps squared away, he can move into his new digs!
