How does everyone on here measure their dragons? Every time I break out the tape measure on Coco, he tries to bite it. also, what does everyone use to weigh theirs? I really want to know how he is growing. :)

I use a ruler when they are small, a 3 foot yard stick when they are bigger. Set the ruler on a flat surface and sit the dragon on the ruler.
I use a food scale from walmart for weighing. It does grms, ounces and pounds. Its good for weight pets and making jam:)

I use a tape measure to measure the length and a gram scale that I picked up at Target to get their weights. I usually have to put a bowl on the scale and have it set to zero before I measure them because they are larger than the scale

Well P is curious and doesnt sit still when I use a tape measure directly, she keeps wanting to lick it.

SO

I use a piece of yarn / string. I drape it acress the centre of her body (Tip to tail) The yarn actually grips nicely to their scaly skin. Then I remove it, and measure with a tape measure.

I weigh her with a digital kitchen scale. Very accurate

I used to have a problem with the tape measure, too. So I used one of my scrap pieces of 3/4" melamine-coated MDF and added one inch increments on it using my tape measure. Then just set them on it and measure. They sit still long enough to get a correct measurement.
