Cool Vid, they waving is a common occurrence when they are youngsters & part of the mating & domination ritual when older.
It could be deceiving, but your BD appears to be much too young to be on particle substrate of any kind. BDs less than 10" nose to tip of tail should not be on a particle substrate of any kind, poses an extremely high impaction risk & it looks like there are some pretty large particles there.
