My new Beardie is about 6-7 inches. Is there a way to tell if it's a male or female? Thanks.
You Can also just flip him over, If you look under his vent, (Boy) You will see two large bumps, (girl) You will see One or no bump. I do think this is more accurate, but your beardie has to be at least 7,8 inches long. (You can also just lightly lift up his/her Tail while in your hand, And that's a way to find the bumps too, but it also is a risk of hurting your Beardies tail. Goodluck! There is! First off I would like to say welcome to the forum! The easiest way (at least I think so) is to look at the hind legs. On the hind legs, near the base of the tail on the inner thigh, bearded dragons have something called femoral pores. They are mostly used for mating as the male will produce pheromones to attract a mate. If you look at the pores you can then tell if it is a male or female. In a female they can be very hard to find or you may not be able to see any at all. On a male you'll be able to see them right away. This picture shows an example of a males femoral pores.
