My little Lilly is growing so fast. She is eating and Shedding very well. She is about 5 Month old now and i feed her 6 large Crickets and 2 larger Superworms in the morning and at night. Through out the days she has her bowl of Greens abd Vegtabels. She poops very Day no problem. Very alert and loves to cuddle. Her Mom was is a Giant German Beardie, she is a very big Girl :)
I have notices that that Lilly is getting a belly on her. If i would let her eat more Crickets morning and night she would but since i seen her belly i cut her down. I thought maybe i feed her to much.
Or could it be because her Mom is the Giant German Beardie that she is getting that Belly?
I will post sone pic and you guys could see her.

I think that she looks very good she has nice fat pads behind her jaw. I usually say as long as their belly is off the ground as they walk around they are doing well belly wise. The only thing I would caution you is the evening feeding just make sure that the last feeding of the day is a few hours before they slow down/lights out for the night as they have to have the basking heat to digest. When things are not digested before bed they tend to throw it back up, and it just sits in their belly over night and that isn't very good for them..
Other wise she looks great! I would love to see the Mom

Her last feeding is around 5 pm and the lights go out at 8 pm. That gives her 3 hours under the Basking light. Yeah the Belly is off the the ground when she runs around through out the Day.
So you would say I down feed her to much with the Crickets which are 12 large and 4 Superworm a Day.
I will get a Picture of her Mom and show you guys.

I think that is dragon specific each is going to be different.. I know my Izzy eats most of her bugs in the am and only about half of that amount in the early afternoon.. I leave her salad out all day for her to munch on when she wants.

She is a little round but she looks good at the moment. If anything I would cut down on the super worms to every other day. They are a good bug but they do have some fat in them so you want to be careful with them. If you can try to get a different bug too like silk worms or hornworms or even dubia. Just to mix things up a bit.

I use super worms as my staple bug and I found my boy Luci got HUGE. He would eat about 8 a day every day. He's 2 so I stopped feeding him bugs every day and added some different kinds of worms and more salad.

It's funny my older 2 and my chameleon won't eat crickets but our rescue LOVES them. I don't know how old she we think she's somewhere around 1 1/2 years old but when she sees the crickets in the cup she can't wait and just crawls into the cup to eat them! I don't get the large ones because they are too large for my frogs so I get somewhere in the middle so she gets around 25. She also eats supers and whatever other worm I give her. She's getting kinda plump though. I just feel bad because she acts like she's starving all the time.

Jim has more of belly and fat pads than your Lilly. By a lot! He was on 4 dubiaand 2 supers worms twice a day with dandlions each time as well. Guessing 9 to 10 months old now. He can jump to his basking spot 12" above the floor no problem there is a ramp but hardy uses it.

I know Lilly is just 5 Month old and when i give her smaller once she would eat and look for more. Even with the large once after 6 she looks at me like, is that all.
Im not to sure if i should cut her down like tou said she is a bit plum lol. She was was out of one shed and then the other one came right after. I believe that was because of her Belly now lol.
So what would you say is the best way to go from here. I know to cut down on her Superworms. 12 large Crickets a Day and what worms are on the less fatty side??

She just turned 5 month. She eats all her Greens and Vegies aswell plus her 12 large Crickets and 4 superworms.

Yea I'm putting Izzy on a bit of a diet as well being 11 months ish she is weighing in at 310gr. She is I think coming out of her semi brumation but I'm giving 2 supers (but she's not been wanting them) an adult Dubia, a few med juv Dubia and a couple smalls.. She is eating more of her greens which is a good thing.

I would continue the daily crickets and do supers every other day. Dubia are good and so are silk worms. Hornworms are good for hydration.

Yes I don't give her super worms everyday no more. I picked up some Mealworms I asked the guy in the store if they are on the fatty side but I have a funny feeling they are. Yeah she get her 12 large Crickets everyday.
I weight and measured her today. She is 5 month old and is 12inch long and 146g
Is she a little chunker?? Lol
I can't get Dubia here in Canada :(

I wouldn't feed the mealworms :( they contain high levels of chitlin (hard undigestible shell) they often cause impactions in a dragon that isn't VERY hydrated.. I hate that they still recommend them for a staple..

Ok thank you I defiantly won't feed them because I don't want to run into any problems with my little girl. So would you mind telling me what is best apart from crickets. Dubia I can't get here in Canada.

Can you get discoid roaches? I know in the states that don't allow dubia they allow discoids.. So the feeders would be crickets, superworms, silkworms, waxworms, butterworms, hornworms, soilder flies.
I'm not sure what all the bugs you can get in CA. Maybe a google search for what bugs can I get in CA.. Or maybe any members that know from experience or know someone will chime in.. Superworms do have chitlin but they are easier to digest but watch out they are fatty so not an everyday feeder..

No I can't get discoid roaches in Canada. I used crickets and superworms and I think the supers gave here the belly because I didn't know that they on the fatty side. I will make sure that I give her less fatty stuff.
About her size size she is 12 inch long and 146gram. Would you say that she is still normal?
