Lights Out

I come home and see that all of Odys lights are out; I am worried that the bulb went out already because I saw it go out before; however it seems after some troubleshooting the timer had been reset. So nothing was broke; it just wasn't functioning correctly...

So tonight around 9pm I will need to set the mode back to auto and let the cycle resume....

I am wondering how long everything had been turned off for...

The good news is that the CHE was still on and the temps were in the low 70s but poor ody is sitting there on his log cold as bricks looking at me like, "...so the sun is out..."

I suspect my stupid cat...sabotaged the extension cord.

I secured it tightly so that it cannot be pulled out again.

Ody is basking in the warmth now; and he'll get a bath in a little while...but man oh man...when I found out it was the extension cord.....that cat.....

He is fine; lol; however he did give me the business over it; once he warmed up he pooed all over his favorite basking rock and log.....

So I had a clean up to do...

Man I tell ya; I know there's discussions about dragon poo and smelling or not....i don't know who has the rose smelling dragon; but my experience has always been stanky...lol....Odin definitely leaves godly piles; and surprises me every time......

Yea dragon poop does smell, but it shouldn't be god awful make ya wanna throw up gross.. if so have them checked for parasites/worms

I agree with Hdrydr31, if it's really stinky where it clears the house, then I would have it checked. Dolly has always had very stinky poop, I could smell it when I walked in the house, and they were HUGE piles. I finally sent one in to be tested and it came back that she had pinworms. I'm waiting for her to poop again so I can send another sample to see if she is clear.

And to be honest; I am not sure of the difference between normal stink and non-normal

Luci's poop stinks in his tank, but I clean it up and it the smell is gone. With Dolly, I would walk into the house and you could smell it in her tank. I would clean it up real good, clean decor, but you could still smell it in her tank hours later. I could even smell it on her to the point I had to buy beardie soap to give her a bath!

There is a website called http://www.doctordragons.com They are breeders but they also do mail in fecal exams for $12. They test the poop and then if they find any parasites, they will let you know what medicine to purchase, where to purchase it and how much to use. They aren't vets though so they do recommend a vet visit if things don't clear up or if the poop doesn't get more solid or less stinky. I'm waiting on Dolly to poop again so that I can send a sample in to be rechecked, she's being stubborn. Oh and they are real quick. I sent mine in the mail on Wednesday and Saturday afternoon I had the results!

Thank you Patsy; much appreciated! and in good time; I took ody out today and had him sitting on my shoulder while I was prepping his bath; and i hear a tiny squeak .... and no less than 10 seconds later a yellow/greenish liquid starts running down my chest...(He was facing backwards so butt front); I go to pull him off and the gates of hell let loose from his butt.......diarrhea....all over me....it looked black but the towel was red so it was not the real color(**EDIT** The color on my skin was dark green); I am thinking that I may be over hydrating him and he is getting too much veggies vs. protein...I am going to rework his diet; it was hard getting him to eat veggies so I kinda put him on a tsudo diet where there were more veggies available than roaches; and I think it threw him off.......

Back to his old diet...

I am also just to be safe going to order a kit; and send it in.

There's no kit. You just seal it in a ziplock bag real secure and wrap it and put it in a box with your beardies name and weight and a check for $12. I put mine in two plastic bags and wrapped it in bubble wrap!

You can pay them through PayPal too. I didn't realize bearded dragon.co does them too. Sounds more involved with them though. I did order my medicine from them though, along with a ton of other stuff.
