I have a 50 gallon enclosure with a bearded dragon just wondering on the basking light what size should I use to make sure that the temperature reaches its appropriate area

You want temps 105-110 for a baby-- 95-110 for juvie-/ adult-- it is trial and error w/ basking bulbs-- no colored or off white- you need a bright white basking and for a 50 gallon start w/ a 100 but make sure you have a digital probe thermometer to get actual temp- place where he sits to bask for 10 minutes or then get the temp

It depends on the bulb, house temperatures, and brand. A 100-150 watt bulb should be adequate, but make sure to put it in a dimmer fixture and use a thermostat. It might take a while to find the right wattage for your tank.
