Light bulbs that don’t burn out?

Hi all!

In the past 6 months I’ve been going through light bulbs like crazy. I’ve been having trouble finding bulbs in stores that both give off enough heat (during the cooler months, I need 125 watts to keep the temperature high enough) and give off light. I started purchasing some off amazon, but each brand I’ve tried burns out within a month. Anyone have any luck with a brand they would recommend? Thanks!

What type light are you buying?

A couple things come to mind - the MVB runs quite hot and needs to be mounted in a fixture with a ceramic base and a 10 or 12 inch dome. And the MVB should hang rather than use the clamp, which causes the bulb to be at an angle. It needs to be straight down.

Maybe a picture of your set up would help us give you a better answer.

Thanks for replying, I’ll see if I can take a picture when I get home from work. The fixtures we use are ceramic and hang. I just don’t understand because we’ve had this setup for over 3 years with no problems until recently. I’ve tried GE and Zoo Med - none of them seem to receive great reviews on Amazon. Maybe I’ve just received some bad bulbs. I was hoping there was a more reliable brand that would last more than a month.
