hi. I am very concerned about my BD. He constantly keeps his legs extended back. when he needs to walk he will use them ok, but when he doesn't have to he keeps them extended. He wont run or go after the crickets I am feeding him either, he waits until they come to him. I notice that he always has at least one of his front legs bent also. I don't know what to do.

Hi Rachel. It isn't uncommon for them to keep their legs stretched like that when they are basking, but he should still should be using them normally.

Could you post a picture?

Also, if you could answer a couple of questions it will help to see that everything is set up properly and feeding is proper.

Husbandry Questions

1. Age
2. Length
3. Weight
4. Basking temps
5. Are they measures with a digital thermometer
6. What % and age uvb
7. What is the substrate
8. What size tank
9. How many/big are the crix you are feeding
10. What greens
11. Are you dusting w/ a multi vitamin and calcium
12. Last poop
13. Last soak
14. How long has he/she been in your home

My Dragons like to lay that way too, that's something that must feel comfortable to them.
