  1. Hi all. My most recent Beardie is a male called Zeus....I got him off somebody in December and was told he was about a year old. At first, all was well. Before I had him he had no uv light in his Viv so i was quick to add this. His temps on cold/hot end and basking area seems to be spot on. Around January time he would hide and sleep majority of the day......assumed he was brumating so didn't worry! However, he is still like it. All he does is hide in the cold side of his tank. He NEVER basks unless I place him there. He only eats if I put food in front of him and he turns his nose up at vegetables/fruit. I bathe him weekly and he always drinks so know his hydration is good. He still seems healthy...he is alert and when I get him out for exercise he runs around well! My concern is that he doesn't move when in his Viv. I have never had a Beardie like him so I'm worried that something is wrong. Obviously I am going to take him to the vets but wondered if you had any ideas as I genuinely don't think there is much wrong with him health wise. Any ideas?!?

Usually when they don't want to eat and they hide on one side of the tank you want to recheck your temps and your UVB. Are you using a tube style UVB light? Those are the best since you want it to cover at least 2/3 of the tank. Is there a basking temp of 107 degrees? Even at a year old they should still be kept on the warm side. They don't become adults until about the 18 month mark, even then some may like it a little warmer. Mine are 4 and 5 and prefer it to be around 102.
