Sammy is about 8-9 months old now. She seems very happy and healthy and has gotten so big. She’s my first dragon and really the only time I’ve ever interacted with one. I see others post about how their dragon loves to explore and is so full of personality. Sammy of course has her own unique personality. But she’s very laid back. She’s in the main room with us. I take her out all the time and she’s very comfortable and feels safe around me from what I can tell. She really only likes for me to hold her. Anyways, she doesn’t really like coming out of her enclosure. When I pull her out she will run up to the top of the couch, walk back and forth a few times and then snuggle behind the cushion to go to sleep. Then I end up putting her in my sweater. Just tonight I tried letting her run around on the bed and she wasn’t having that and got weird and tried to run. I grabbed her and put her in my sweater and she immediately calms down and snuggles in and falls asleep. Is this just her personality? She would rather be in her tank or snuggled up but not running out? Maybe just feels safer that way for her? I guess I’m just curious if anyone has a dragon like that. Sweetest little thing. But can’t help but wonder if she should be getting more in the way of enrichment. But unsure how to offer if she just likes to be laid back.

OMG the pic of Sammy sprawled asleep by the cushion is precious. hahahaha Could be her personality. All beardies are different. I'm a newbie mum who has one of the adventures ones so don't know for sure. lol She looks happy and healthy so my thought would be it's probably her personality and she's more a cuddle bug than a dare devil.

My girl has just started to snuggle me its so precious, give her what she wants , you can try and offer bugs outside the tank to get her to be more active, try setting her in low window that gets lots of sun(put down something soft incase she jumps) my beardy loves window watchin , does she have a hide and a blanky in her tank? (They love soft things ik its weird)

Thank you, I think you are right. I guess as long as she is healthy I shouldn’t worry and just like people different temperaments. Thank goodness she is not a dare devil like your little man lol he’s such a wild one he’s funny.

Thank you! She refuses bugs outside her tank ever since she was a baby. I haven’t done the window since the weather cooled but she seemed to enjoy it in the summer just enjoying the air. She does have a hide she has 2. She hasn’t taken to soft things, she’s just so different. She prefers to lay on the hard. I put a big cat bed in her tank to break her fall when she would jump instead of using stairs. And she’s so funny she quit jumping and uses the stairs now to avoid the pillow lol! I will come to terms she’s just relaxed and chill and let her have it how she likes. I guess I worry she’s bored! I myself love a chill day so she must also lol

:) Yeah, if she's acting the same as she always has it's probably just her temperament. She sounds so sweet and even with her laid back temperament sounds like quite the character. Having a snuggle bug must so relaxing! Dex will cuddle, but only for a bit then he wants down. Sometimes wish I had a cuddle bug who will snuggle in my chair with me, but he is what he is and I luv him to pieces. lol Thought I'd get snuggle time when I got Jango. Nope. He's definitely not a cuddler either. I have the scratches to prove it. About the only one who would cuddle with me is Ozzy Osbone and he's too big to fit in the chair with me. hahahahaha
