just curious on why Ozzy might do this?

Ozzy LOVES oranges....and the other morning when I gave him his morning breakfast, he was eating his oranges and his beard turned way, way dark black and stayed that way for a few hours.....does anyone know why?

Um, cause citrus can actually cause medical issues with dragons... Please find other sources of fruit snacks .

I third that. Some fruits you can give are kiwi, berries. For a longer list, see Bearded Dragon Care

I'm not saying you can't feed citrus at all, far from that, but if you are using oranges to gut load your insects, then citrus shouldn't be part of the weekly list... say though, 1-2 times a month is fine.

I don't feed citrus to the crickets.....I give Ozzy satsuma's like 1 - 2 times a week as of yesterday (agter hearing this) but he LOVES them. It's so funny because he picks all the oranges out of his salad before he eats anything else out of it. He tried to eat my finger when he saw me putting them into the cage last week. He like attacks them and it's so cute. He is such a weirdo...lol...god, I love that little guy!!!!
