So, I haven't been here in a long while. A few months at the least. I received so much advice and help from this forum, shame on me for not dropping by occasionally.
I guess an update is in order on that note. I joined thus forum the second week of February, the day after my son received two juvenile bearded dragons. Hermione was five months, and Khaleesi was six and a half months. Today Hermione has just turned a year old and with so very much sadness in my heart I have to let you all know that my sweet girl Khaleesi passed away about two and a half months ago. She was battling a respiratory infection and just couldn't shake it even with the help of a vet and antibiotics.
Hermione is thriving however and I, of course, am just as in love with her as I was Khaleesi. After my girl passed, my son thought it was only right if Hermione became mine since I did everything with her anyway. View attachment 13020 Here is my grown-up baby, she's a year old this month. We celebrated with a feast of wax, horn and phoenix worms. She's become a gorgeous girl who is just as sweet as she is pretty View attachment 13019 She also has a new brother/sister in our new baby crested gecko, soon to be named. ..hopefully! View attachment 13021 We sincerely hope to hear from you all and hope everyone is well. Also, Hermione says Thank you for teaching her mom how to take care of her!

Thanks @Canicke! Sorry to hear of your loss as well. It was very difficult, add to that the fact that I am new to this so I blamed myself for a while and also I had to deal with the "It's just a lizard! Why are you so upset? You're being a little silly, don't you think?". People can be very cruel, I didn't remember that when I was given the news at work and exploded in to tears! Let's just say that I got some weird looks for a while! LOL

Reading some of your other posts this morning I was worried something happened to Khaleesi :( I'm so sorry for your loss, I know how much you loved her. I'm glad that you kept Hermoine. Sometimes when you have another one to take care of it helps you through the grieving process because you know you have to continue to be there for the one that is still with you.

I know about the "it's just a lizard" thing. When I first started with my frogs, one got real sick and I didn't know what to do. I had that internal battle that "it's just a frog" but it then I told people that the frog didn't come to live with me, I chose it to come live with me so that means I have to do everything I can to make sure it's happy and healthy. I actually took and extended lunch so I could take it to the vet and then left early so I could get it to another vet!
