It is not tail rot--- why is it curled at the end? I was looking for a pinch like but I am not seeing any -- I was looking at the dark part and the very end of it -- keep an eye on it -- if it starts to turn black post back on here w/ a pic of it -- if it starts doing funky things post and we can see what its doing --

... Well this is new.... I have never seen anything like this before, like I’ve seen linked tails but a figure 8... your beardie is a special one. Though it’s not tail rot, it could start to due if no blood flow is getting to it, so just watch it. I would also call your vet and ask what would cause it to turn into a Celtic knot like that. My only other guess is mbd because it can make bones brittle which could cause this. Make sure you’re using a good UVB like the reptisun T5 with a 10.0 uvb bulb and that’s it’s the correct distance away from him. Besides that just keep watching him and see if anything else changes.

Awee poor guy :( looks like his tails broken, keep it nice and clean, it might fall off, if it does keep a little bandaid on it, maybe some manuka honey (to numb the pain) if you use betadine on the tail water it down in a ratio of 4parts water to 1 part betadine.

If your using a coil UVB you need to get rid of it NOW -- they are no good and cause all kinds of health issues - you need a long tube fixture -- a 24" fixture for a 40 + gallon tank like this I would get this replaced ASAP
https://www.pangeareptile.com/store/zoo-med-reptisun-t5-ho-terrarium-hood.html this will come w / a 5.0 bulb hang on to it it can be used as a bask up but the placement and distance would be different from the bulb you need
a 22" bulb https://www.pangeareptile.com/store/zoo-med-reptisun-10.0-uvb-t5.html
when you get this please post back on here and I will help you get it set up in the tank
but you want to do this NOW -- I cant stress this enough -------------
you also need a digital probe thermometer to get accurate basking temps NO stick ons they are inaccurate for basking temps
NO colored bulbs -- they can cause long term eye damage and it disrupts the sleep
NO heat mats NO heat rocks!! No sand!! Please ask if you need more help

If you are using the coil light bulb this could be early signs of mbd, and I would suggest getting a tube light like the one Sadie suggested Because the coil bulbs don’t produce enough uvb for them. If you don’t have the money find a way to bring him closer to the coil bulb so he’s around 6 inches away from it and make sure it’s at least a 150 uvb desert bulb (the 75 and 100 are definitely not high enough for them) until you can get a tube uvb, I would switch before his mbd gets worse because it is not reversible.
