Not sure about the MVB, I use a 10.0T5 fluorescent UVB and a heat lamp but I know other people here use the MVB. If you are getting a Exo-Tera tank I would make sure to go for the biggest one right off the bat. This way you don't have to buy another one down the line. You don't need to buy a fancy mister like that (although that one is very nice). They just need a little misting that a plain old spray bottle can give them. The fancy one puts out a lot of spray. Also, get a digital probe thermometer to measure your temps, get one for each side of the tank. The analog ones are very inaccurate, you will get the temps at the glass and not where your bearded dragon is actual sitting.

I use an MVB (125 watt from exo terra) in a 12ish inch high 20 gal long zilla cage, BUT I use slate tile as my substrate and the "dreaded" quartz sand as a form of grout. The slate absorbs and radiats heat, like a battery absorbs electricity when charging and emits it while off the charger and the sand conducts the heat from tile to tile as well as keeps crickets out of the tile gaps. My basking area is roughly 110 - 113 air temp at the hottest in my day (100 deg f in the sand) and mid 80's on the cool side. When I wake in the morning, the cool side and basking area is usually a few degrees warmer than my air conditioner setting. I use an MVB only because of my limited outlets in my apartment. If i had more good outlets I'd use an incandescent bulb with a UV strip

The MVB ought to be enough to produce all the heat you need during the day and if your inside temps don't go below the mid 70's. But exo terra does say to use the MVB OVER a screen top and the critter needs to be able to get 18+ inches away from the bulb if they desire.

If you decide on the carpet, get 2. I tried nat geo's and it held water for too long so it needs a day to dry or to be placed in a dryer.

My thoughts:

1. The link to your tank isn't working for me for some reason.

2. Forget the mister. That's a great one for keeping substrate moist for turtles and whatnot, but it's overkill for beardies. Get a cheap spray bottle from health and beauty aid section at Walmart.

Substrate: that's what I use. Buy two. When one is dirty, drop the other one in and run the foul one through the washer (cold, not soap).

Bulbs: I don't think you'll go wrong with the Powersun. 100 watts is great if the tank is 40 gallons. If it's bigger, you'll likely want more wattage. GET A STAND FOR THE FIXTURE! That way you can control how high above the dragon you put the light. Also make certain that the fixture has a deep dome and a ceramic (not plastic) socket. Those things put out a lot of heat.

How cold is your home at night? If it doesn't get below the mid 60s, skip the ceramic heat emitter. Also consider a light for the cool side. One that just provides light, not heat. For prettiness.

Temps: That gauge is rubbish. Like others have said, get a digital probe thermometer at least. Even better, an infrared temp gun if your budget allows. Get it from a hardware store rather than a pet store. You'll save money that way.

Vitamins: Calcium, yes. But get calcium without D3 since you're using the mercury vapor bulb. Also consider a multivitamin like Herptivite.

Sorry I'm just getting to this. I use the same digital thermometer that MisterD83 uses.
