Hello, I am posting here because I can't find anything else online that will make me calm down. I just noticed these black spots on my beardie while I was unclogging his femoral pores and I'm worried it's a black fungus or something similar. Does anybody know what this could be? It's not a part of his coloring...at least that I know of. I haven't noticed it before.

By squeezing the bases where it was backed up. Saw a YouTube video on it and immediately checked my beardie and lo and behold a lot of his pores were impacted really deep. That's when I noticed the black spots/scales. Do you think he will be okay? I just don't want this to be a type of fungus or something that can harm him or kill him.

I had another person look and this is what she said

It might be a bit of poo stain or some other. Doesn't look like fungus. Did it show up gradually or all of a sudden ? Try a warm bath during the day and use a toothbrush to gently try to clean it. Stroke downward with the direction of the scales. There can be other causes of slight scale trauma from scraping against things, too.

You can soak him in some betadine solution make it look like a weak tea for 10-15 min soaks to soften the pores it may take several soaks then gently squeeze when they are soft - they should come right out - its a waxy substance that looks like a candlestick --

Thank you! I will make a betadine solution and soak him in that as well as use the toothbrush method. Hopefully all goes well!
