Is this a Dubia egg sack?

I just got my Dubia starter colony about a week ago. I was just checking in on them and saw what looks like an egg sack (sorry, don't know the official name of it). This is NOT attached to a female but I'm thinking the females carry their eggs on the backside? Can they fall off? If these are eggs, will they still produce nymphs even if unattached?

Nothing funnier than a little herp humor! Appreciate the info. Pretty cool stuff! Now I need to plan for the baby shower. Getting registered, sending out invites, ordering food, and all that. I haven't even told my wife we have these critters yet, much less we have babies on the way. :D
Thanks again!

My boyfriend thinks it's amazing that I can get the bugs to recreate he actually thinks the super beetles are pretty cool. We both draw the line with roaches though, too creepy.

I'm hoping the more exposure I have to them the more I will be able to over come the heebie-jeebie factor. I've watched the videos where folks are picking them up bare-handed and well, no thanks. At least not for now.

LOL!
It's funny because just this past weekend, I gave away the last of my batch of dubias to someone on craigslist. I got 100 mediums on Valentine's Day, never even took them out of the cup they came in. At first, Precious liked them but the bigger they got, the less interest she had in them. I still got goosebumps every time I opened the top to get them out. Then 2 weeks ago I offered a couple to Precious but she didn't want them, one was over 2 inches big and got out of the dish. It crawled up to the ceiling of the enclosure, I tried to catch it but it fell and hid for a little while. I was so creeped out thinking it was going to get out of the enclosure. I eventually found it hiding in one of the fake plants. That was it for me! I still had about 15-20 huge ones left and I wanted them gone. Never again, no thank you.

We bought something other than dubia once and were told they were "clumsy climbers" and they mate quick like crickets. I bought 2 dozen, Luci liked them but they did the same thing, they crawled up the GLASS of the tank and almost out the door! I kept them in the cold basement thinking that would slow them down and halt breeding. One day I brought the container up and there were tiny babies in the bottom! Needless to say the holes in the container got taped shut and the rest of the roaches got disposed of!

I've been out of town on business for a few days and left again early this morning. Went to check on the Dubia's before I left to freshen up the water crystals and chow and BOOM! I have babies!! Didn't have time to count them all but it was a slew of them. Pretty cool!

It was definitely an egg sack. Little critters running around everywhere.

As a side note, the wife is now fully aware of the roaches. Fortunately she was under the impression I was breeding mice in that tub. I don't know why she thought that but knowing her absolute fear of mice, I found my opening. I asked her if mice would be really so bad or would it be the worse thing in the world? She said 'Nothing could be worse than mice!' So then I went on to explain these were DUBIA roaches (not the common cockroach). The tension certainly dropped, but only a little.

LOL! As much has I hate dubia....my answer to what would be worse than mice would be SPIDERS! Yesterday morning I lifted up the lid to my cricket tank to find a large(ish) spider just hanging out on the edge of the tank. After about a half hour I finally got it sucked up into the vacuum and then took the whole unit outside to empty it in the garbage!

At any time I have 1000 super worms, 1000 crickets, super worm beetles and hornworm pupa hanging in my basement but I can't handle ants or spiders LOL!
