Is something wrong with Zilla?

So tomorrow will be two weeks that I have had my girls. I have been researching and asking questions like crazy, to the point where my husband thinks I'm being obsessive, lol. Anyway, call me an idiot, but I had no idea there was a difference between the basking light and a UVB until yesterday. I immediately went to the local pet store and spent a good deal of money on new lighting for their house. I fed them, as I always do, around five yesterday and then spent a good hour monitoring the temps in their terrarium to ensure proper digestion. This morning, I went to make their salads and turn on the lights and it seems that Zilla has quite a few stress marks and is a darker color than usual. Could this be from changing the lighting? Will it just take some getting used to? Is there anything I can do to make her feel better? I'm sorry for the lengthy post, I'm just a worried mama!

It's ok to be a worried mama. Kinda like the first kid - it gets easier. Some bear dies stress over what we think to be the littlest things. Others - not so much. All different _ like all God's createures. May take home a few days to adjust. Don't freak.

Thank you so much. She seems to be a lot better this afternoon, I actually caught her drinking out of the water bowl! I have never seen either one of them do that before (usually I mist them a couple times a day), so I figured that is probably a good sign. And she seems to be in good spirit. I'm definitely a worry wart! LOL :)

It's normal to worry about everything they do. With Dexter I was completely obsessive. If she looked the light I thought there was something wrong with the light, if she looked at me sideways I thought there was something wrong with her, if she took a nap I thought she was sick. After awhile you learn to start listening to them and you'll know when you really need to worry about them. It takes a little while though.

Stress marks and being dark in the morning when the lights go on is a common thing. Mine have them in the morning until they warm up a bit and they darken when they are absorbing the UVB.

Something that freaked me out was the first winter I had Pogo she wasn't as active as she used to be, and I thought she was sick. I did some research and found out it was completely normal and it's just like them hibernating. Just to save you some future stress.
