Hi all

When I had Pogie at the vet on March 19, she weighed only 71 gramms . . . Got hold of my moms kitchen scale today (Unfortunately not digital . . but anyways) She weighs 148 gramms now. 6 weeks later

Shes gone from 28cm on 15 March to 38cm on 22 April. Thus in just over 5 weeks

Is she growing properly? Today I have had her for exactly 2 months.....

Ok, Ok,

I'm probably the single most impatient person I know.... Waiting drives me NUTS

Lets see

Made a quick chart of Pogies groth since I started writing it down

Date Age Total Inch Body Inch Tail Inch Weight
15-Mar 22 wks 11.81 4.72 7.06 -
21-Mar 23 wks 12.59 5.11 7.48 71gm
25-Mar 23.5 wks 12.98 5.31 7.67 -
06-Apr 25 wks 13.48 5.7 7.87 -
14-Apr 26+ wks 14.17 6.29 7.88 -
22-Apr 27+ wks 15 6.8 8.2 -
1 May 29 wks 15.5 7 8.5 148gm

On 1 May shes supposed to be 7 months.. and according to the bottom chart she's really UNDERWEIGHT, although not that small

Then I found this on the Internet

Made of female dragon
Age Date Inches Weight
15 weeks 9-9-02 9 1/2" 35g
4 months 9-16-02 10" 41g
19 weeks 10-7-02 12" 81g
5 months 10-14-02 13" 102g
6 months 11-12-02 14 3/4" 183g
7 months 12-10-02 16" 280g

Monique... that is only a guide. Each dragon is different. Relax.
150 ish isn't bad...and for her to double her weight in 6 weeks is pretty much good.
So chin up, get the smile pasted back on... and relax. lol
Hope this helps out !

I think she is ok, don't forget she is playing catch up on her growing b/c of her poor living conditions prior to you getting her. Slyder is playing catch up as well and boy is he ever growing, he is starting his second shed in less than a month. I am a worry wort too. You should have seen all the questions I was asking a couple of months ago. I was in a panic when Slyder throw up shortly after getting him. I have learned so much from everyone here and I feel so comfortable asking all my crazy questions. Great group of people here!!!

As like any creature, beardies all grow at different rates. As long as they fall within the "norm" I would not worry.

I wish the same thing too. I have no idea on my 2. All I know is Oscar is 5, but no month or hatch date. And Slyder is about 4-5 months old. Thats all I know. Slyder was a rescue and Oscar was a rehome due to no time but had good, not perfect but good care.

Once they are over a year, the exact hatch date really isn't an issue at all. As long as you know within a month you are good.
