Hi guys, My 4yr old dragon has started to favour hiding on the cool side of her tank recently. Im in the UK, have only had her for 18months and have never experienced brumation but wondered if it was too early for this or could it be something else? Her tank is a x4x2x2, she has uvb & uva strip lights and an arcadia 100w uv basking bulb. She is eating and pooping. I have recently upgraded her basking platform so maybe she’s not over keen ‍♀️ the other thing someone mentioned to me was her being lonely? I don’t mean get her a buddy as i know not to do that but i work full time & was on annual leave last week & she was fine. Since ive been back to work she has started hiding. I get her out as soon as i get home for cuddles and put her back on her platform and she perks up! I have also booked a vet visit for Saturday. Any advice would be appreciated.

Please NO enemas at the vet-------- it sounds like shes getting ready for brumation --- if shes eating and pooping shes good - let her do her thing --- dragons do not need a buddy -- you are the best buddy she can have --- and no its not too early for starting brumation behavior

Nope definitely no enemas! Have heard horror stories about those! I will take a sample with me if possible. She has yearly check ups so this is coinciding with that anyway. Thanx Sadie as always, not looking forward to the brumation period but i know its part of owning a beardie. Will keep you updated if the vet suggests anything other than brumation x
