I recently got this old boy, who is approximately 7 years old. I have attached a picture, and I would like to know is this skin colour on the right hand side an illness or is he shedding his skin? Many thanks, Malachi.

It kind of looks like stuck shed skin. Give him a 20 minutes bath with lukewarm water and see if it comes off by itself. Can't tell much from the pic but if not, it could also be a burn from being to close to a basking spot.

It looks like it's probably just shed, it may or may not be ready to come off, but I'd give him a warm soak every couple days and keep an eye on it. Adults shed the funniest patches, and I've noticed it takes my adults longer to shed than it does babies and juveniles.

That's stuck shed by his eye. See if you can gently brush it off with your finger without getting it in his eye. He's shedding a in a couple different places by the looks of it, but I don't see anything that resembles yellow fungus in the photos you posted. Yellow fungus typically starts around the vent area.

You guys are fantastic... mega thanks.
I will do all of this and hope it goes.

I shall return and probably have more questions. As I have never had a lizard or reptile before. He also came with a budgie. Long story.

Yep just shedding in odd sections and the bathing and using a soft toothbrush while in the tub can be used just gently.. I would avoid spraying inside of the enclosure as too much humidity in the air can lead to respiratory issues.
Also your basking temps seem low adults are typically 90-95F

Hi ,
My dude who is about 5/6now( i adopted him ) has the same mark. He was shedding a while back but only in two places and formed a "shed bubble" that took ages to fall off, and while i really wanted to pull it off you can not!Should not! .... it eventually fell off and left a "non tanned" patched, it has faded a little but is still there and he is fine and happy.. Hope i am right to say nothing to worry about ..
