I have an adult male bearded dragon named tramples that I got back in May of this year. The Pet shop owner said he was about a year old. He's my first lizard so I am not too familiar with what brumation looks like and I'm beginning to worry. The weather has fluctuated a bit the past few months and I'm curious if that has something to do with it. I think my beardie went into brumation because he started favoring the hide in his cage and not basking or eating. But since about a month ago he's gotten more active and has begun eating like he used to. My only concern is that he hasn't had a BM since he went into (I think) brumation around the beginning of September. I've been giving him soaks about once a week, and I tried giving him a superworm dipped in mineral oil and he still hasn't passed anything. I keep him on tile, no substrate. Another thing I should mention is he has not shed since I got him. Before he went down to brumate he popped some nose plugs and I do catch him rubbing now that he's awake more often but he hasn't shed yet. Otherwise he seems perfectly healthy. He's fat but not distended, he gets up every day to run laps and do his little push-ups (head bobs) around his tank, loves his basking branch, loves to eat. I've had him on a diet of dusted superworms and dubias, collard greens, and occasionally other fruits and vegetables (only those recommended for beardies). I keep him in a 40 gallon breeder tank with a 100 watt basking bold and a uvb strip. He has become very easy to handle since he's come into my care, he's huge, I love him, my friends love him, and he acts like a healthy dragon but what on earth is he doing with all this food he's eating? And when is he going to shed for me?
