I'm willing to take a risk. What do you think?

So I know wild insects and other invertebrates should generally be avoided for most types of terrarium animals but here's the thing. I found something that would make a great once in a great while treat for my dragon. I was doing some cleaning in the backyard today and found several huge nightcrawlers that I thought would be great special dinner for Odahviing. I know you can buy nightcrawlers but these ones were free so a good bonus. I know the risks but I think in this circumstance it will be okay because for one thing I've never heard of earthworms carrying parasites and also nobody around here really uses pesticides or weed killers so I think we have some of the freshest worms around in our neighborhood. I fed them all the time to some turtles I had several years ago and they were fine. Besides, early spring here in Wisconsin is so fresh and just emerging, still a little bit cool outside so I have my doubts about a huge risk of parasites right now. I also intend to wash them off before I feed them to her in case there was anything nasty in the soil. What do you guys think?

if you know what goes into your soil, it should be good. remember, STUFF can fall out of the air. that being said - it falls out everywhere. you might consider putting together a small compost bin, throw the worms in there for a bit (I have no idea how long to recommend) to get them nice and cleaned out, before you give them to your bud.

That's a great idea! I was going to do something similar to that anyway to let them disinfect.

Nightcrawlers are a great treat, Luci LOVES them. I do buy the ones from the store though because I don't know what goes into our soil.
