My friend, she absolutely adores bearded dragons and she finally got one. His names Chandler who they found out today is most likely a girl! But her step dad loved bearded dragons too and was able to convince her mom for them to get another one! His names joe and now they have two baby beardies!
Her step dad knows a lot about them, after all he used to have them before. I'm just so excited for her!
What kind of bugs could you recommend? I only ask because they don't like crickets (her parents) they say that they smell if you keep them, so I need to know what bugs would be good for babies.
They do feed them crickets, but they stop by the store every two days to pick up about 24/25 and Chandler eats them all, I'm not sure about joe yet they got him a day or two ago.

babies can eat SMALL dubia roaches, but they generally thrive on crickets - as many as they will eat in a 15 minute period. yes - crickets do smell if their container is not cleaned out. maybe she could have 2 and rotate them. how old are these babies?

2-3 months old, do you have any recommendations for when their older since one is a girl and the other is a boy. She was thinking that they could be out at the same time just held by different people and of course not right next to each other

dont think "canned food" is terrific. fresh food is much better er !! They can both be out at the same time - under supervision. i have my girl and boy out together most of the time. she's a "been there done that" kinda gal, so not much gets to her. He's a bit more rambunctious. i've only had to separate them once. she's about 5 and he's about 3. it was more of a concern after they came out of brumation - he just had lots of "guy" to work off !! there are a variety of insects available. many of the worms may be too big for these guys - but in a few months, their world will open up !! I suggest offering veggies daily - they may not eat a lot of them (they need insect protein to grow) but they might get a taste for the greens.

I hate when I have a whole story typed out and I lose it!

You need to feed your beardies live food and lots of it. Your step dad has experience with bearded dragons so he should know that they need live food. Your mom is just going to need to deal with it. My oldest beardie used to eat 60-70 crickets a day! You have 2 so that is a lot of crickets. It's cheaper to order them in bulk online and keep them in the house somewhere. I keep mine in the pantry in a 10 gallon fish tank with a metal screen top and I clean it out every few days or so. It's also important to gut load your feeders before you give them to your bearded dragon. The pet stores don't gut load so it's up to you. They need to eat something nutritious a few days before you feed them off. I feed mine the salad greens that I feed my bearded dragons. Here is a few links to good veggies to feed.
