My name is Zach, I am 17 years old and I have been doing the reptile thing for as long as I can remember. I got my first pet when I was 7, a beardie, and I have always had lizards since then. Unfortunately, where I live (middle Tennessee) the reptile scene is nonexistent, my "local" shop being 45 minutes away. I am really on here just to meet some more reptile enthusiasts, share my knowledge and gain knowledge from everyone else's experiences. I am very social and would always be down to have a conversation with anyone about anything. I have 2 amazing beardie buddies, a female Hypo pastel and a double Het leatherback and I am expecting their first clutch to hatch in mid April! I also have a female leopard gecko who is going on 5 years with me and she is the shyest thing ever! I have a small scale Dubia project that I am trying to expand. I love reptiles and a lot of other things that most people don't! Feel free to messages me or comment, I hope to be as regularly active in this forum as I can!

Welcome to the forum! Do you have pictures of your beardies? What are their names?

My female is Jing and my male is Kenya. I tried to post pictures in the media section but it said I do not have permission to do so

Hey Zach that's why I'm here too, I love reptile s. Although I got into them a bit differently than you. Never had as much as a frog till about a year and a half ago, a friend had a beardie that was passed from house to house. She ment well but just couldn't take care of it the way it should be. My husband talked me into taking her, the rest is history. I now have 4 beardies, 2 crested geckos, and 1 leopard gecko. All rescued, all amazing. Still trying to warm up to snakes tho.

Hi, I'm wondering if anyone can help. My female beardie called little lightening laid a clutch of infertile eggs a week ago. I've been feeding her on pinkies twice a week, crickets three times a week and veggies four times a week all dusted with calcium. She's been displaying the same behaviour as she did just before she laid for the past two days, like not wanting to come out of her tank, just sitting under her uv light and eating a full tub of crickets each time I feed her them. What could this mean? She's also looking fatter like she did a week prior to laying. Thanks in advance
I am new to beardies myself, but I have been doing extensive research and I could try to help or at least point you in the right direction. I would first ask how old your girl is. How long have you had her and do you have any previous experience with bearded dragons? From everything I have read, pinkies should not be fed as often as you say you are feeding them. Even though she has just laid a clutch, it seems there must be another way to build her strength back. Twice a week seems like a lot to me. It's your decision, but I would be cautious. This could lead to digestive issues. There are some very knowledgeable people on this forum, but you will need to give them some basic information about your girl, as I had mentioned before. Also include her size and perhaps move to a more appropriate forum to receive the best possible answers. I hope you I helped at least a bit! Good luck :)
