Heeeeey everybody. I've finally come back to the forum. It's been a crazy few months for me - got offered a full-time job, not having a computer which killed me lol, and yeah. WELL, my lack of computer days are over because I bought a laptop on boxing day. Yay.

Now enough about me.

My 3 dragons have been down for 2 months already. But Ace came out of brumation about a week or 2 ago. Baby is so-so. She's usually awake, but is still lazy. Charlie on the other hand, is still down.

Brumation is a period of time that a beardie over the age of 12 months goes into. It is usually the fall to winter and can be as short as 3 weeks or as long a 3 months. During this time a beardie will find a cool spot in the tank and just lay there. They sleep and/or just nap. They can either do this the entire time or sometimes they will do that for a day or two and come out for a bit. But they don't stay out for long, then they are right back at napping. During this period you don't want to feed any live food at all. You should offer greens daily in case they come out for a bite. You can wake a beardie weekly for a good soaking. During this period your beardie shouldn't lose any or much weight. Remember, if you think your beardie is sick, have him/her check by a vet. DON'T LET A BEARDIE BRUMATE WITH PARASITES.
