I Want Another Herp!

So I am way too addicted to Herpetology and ever increasing my collection (Damn my professor for starting me on this track). I am trying to decide what to pick next once I get my own single apartment in the next few months. I don't mind snakes but I am not exactly partial to keeping them, except maybe Kenyan Sand Boas. I currently have a Leopard Tortoise and Bearded Dragon, and have kept a rescue Leopard Gecko and Jackson's Chameleon for a while as well. I would love to get a Gila Monster (a grad student I worked with kept them and they seemed really exciting) but they cost too much. So go ahead and throw suggestions!

I looked into a Uromastyx before I got my BD. I like them but its so hard to find captive bred because there are so few and sell quick. I do like the idea of getting a Blue Tongue. Water Dragons and Iguanas take up a lot more space with their enclosures so that would be a problem. Geckos and anoles are a bit small for my liking. I'm so picky :p lol

I looked and looked and looked for another herp to get along with my beardie and oddly enough I ended up getting a leopard gecko. My only issue is they are nocturnal so I never really get to see it do much other than just lay around in its hide. Lol

I get the girls out to explore once in awhile. Merlin would rather be left alone. Abby loves getting out to play. :)

I love them both! If I had another room-then I'd get them.:)

..start stacking tanks. ;)

LOL! I wish I could stack tanks. :D Boog (Allie) wouldn't like another reptile taking all of her 'Love'. I've got four tanks in my room so far. Let's see: I've got a five gallon fish tank with a Kuhlii Loach named Snakey. (Snake-like eel about 3''.), a gerbil named Will (Wilson) living in a 10 gallon fish tank, a colony of crickets living in a 20 gallon tank, and a 45-55 gallon reptile critter tank. And an empty ten gallon tank with no one in it.

That empty ten gallon can house a baby turtle. Painted Turtles and Musk Turtles only get about 6" fully grown so you can keep a baby in there for a few months. I know how the.herp itch is when you want more... Before I had to relocate I had 14 turtles. Lol.
