I have to stop fighting the inevitable, I think Dexter is going into brumation. Wednesday she spent the entire day sleeping on her sand in her favorite corner. She opened her eyes a few times and I tried to give her some crickets and she wasn't having them. Thursday was a completely different story, she was VERY hungry. She was in her corner again but standing up and looking around. She ate about 6 very large crickets. She got a bath and she pooped. Friday she was so so. She was in her corner again but looked sleepy she walked around a bit, climbed on her hammock. I took her out of her tank for a bit and she climbed around on the couch. put her back in her tank around 2pm and she ate some superworms and then she crawled under her log and went to sleep. She hasn't moved since then. Every 10 times I check on her she will open her eye for a second and then close it. I'm going to let her be and let her figure out what she wants to do but I have some concerns.

Later today I have to give her a bath. She ate those supers yesterday and the only way she poops is in a bath. My real problem is that her front foot is in serious shed. Just the foot and one toe right now but not the leg or any other part of her body. If she is in brumation how often do I need to take her out and soak her to get this shed to finish, and is it safe to keep moving her? Would it disturb her if I took a soft tooth brush daily and brushed her foot to help get it to come off? Also, should I turn her lights off? Her tank will be around 70 degrees with the lights off.

I haven't experienced the brumation at all yet but I'd assume you keep the lights on a 12 hour routine.....

I think moving him around a lot may stress him out maybe. Maybe leave him be and if you see him out and about grab him and give a bath.....

She drives me batty! Today she was up and around again glaring at us like she does when she wants out! So of course her daddy took her out and she ran around the house all day and ate a few supers. I'm having a hard time telling if it's brummation or if she's just upset during the week because we aren't home all day. Over the holidays I had a lot of time off and she was used to someone being home with her. So sometimes I wonder if she's just sad she has to be in her tank all day.
