Hello, I am new to this forum. I've had a bearded Dragon for about seven months is, he has been growing great, and is about 11 months old. Recently, I have noticed that he hasn't been able to get his sheds off like he normally does, they have been there for quite a long time. Second, he has been encredibly lazy, laying in his hide almost all day long. Third, he hasn't been able to poop unless I bathe him in warm water, which I dont have the time to do every single day. I've thought it might be a problem with humidity, because of the sheds not coming off. His humidity stays about 30-40% during the day. Second, I thought it might have to do with his diet, which consists of many different lettuces ( No iceberg ), crickets dusted with multivitamin and calcium, dusted superworms, and collards daily. Occasionally I will feed carrots, squash, and kale. On a rarity I will feed apples, bananas, and blueberry. I would really apprecite help from anybody. Thank you very much for reading.

Welcome to the forum!!! Sometimes they can have a hard time with their shed and at times we need to help them a bit. What you can do is get a baby toothbrush and gently going in the direction of his scales while in a nice warm bath. You can also get some pure coconut oil and use only a tiny bit rub that on while in the bath. Just Be very careful to get it all off prior to going back under his basking light so he doesn't get burned.
It's quite possible that he is entering into his brummation phase. If so they will get lazy, not eat much.
Mine will only do her business in the bath so I bathe her everyday. Not saying you have to I know some other's dragon's only poop once a week..
I would really stay away from any kind of lettuce as there just is no nutrition in it.. Collard, turnip, dandilion are all good staples I've included a few links for ya in case you need a couple food items lists most of us go by them..

You can drop the cool side down to 70 as they do need the drop in temps at night. As long as it doesn't go below 65F they are good.

Hope some of that helps... I am glad you are taking him in to see a vet as if he is going into brummation you want to make sure he's in good health to do so.

Wow Thank you so much! I was always told lettuces were good. I will try adding turnips and dandelions to the diet :D. Do you think I should take him to the vet?

There are soo many good greens you can offer him and all the good vit's he will get from them might even help with his scales/shed. Take a look at those links..
It is always good to have a check up especially if he's trying to brumate, sometimes crickets carry pin worms and a dragon that has them when going to sleep for a good period of time left unchecked they grow out of control and some dragon's don't wake up.. :( a good check up is always a good thing. They also may be able to help the shed.

He was at my vet a couple weeks ago, they took a poop sample and he didnt have parasytes. I guess I'll go anyway though to help with his shed :). I'm going to have a good look at those links right now.

I would get him some healthier greens and depending on the age of the dragon you may want to up your basking temp a bit more. Babies need temps that are 107 in the basking spot and adults need 95-100 degrees. It's possible that your dragon just prefers pooping in the bath. My 3 year old does that. I give her a bath at least once a week 2x if I have the time.
