Dexter isn't big yet on eating greens and today I accidentally found a great way to get her to eat them. Everyone says to put worms in her salad and the movement will make her eat the salad but that never works, she will pick around the salad to eat the worms. Today when I was feeding her a horn worm it fell into her salad, the worms little velcro legs grabbed hold of whatever it could and Dexter dove down and ate it all! She's now standing in deep thought, trying to figure out what the heck just happened LOL!

Nice.lol. I actually found a sneaky way aswell. Since vinnie has had an attitude when i reach in, he opens his mouth to hiss at me i stick a few greens in his mouth than when i back my hand up he chomps them down. Bahaha. But i think he may have got wise to it because after a little bit he quite hissing at me.lol tim 1- vinnie 1. ill try again in a little bit.

I actually read about this technique when I was trying to tame Luci. They said when he opens his mouth, stick the green in and he will associate you with food instead of being afraid of you. Guess it works :)

My one girl close her eyes and turns her head when I try and give her greens. The other looks at them me and cocks her head like saying yeah right like I'm gonna eat that. They both eat them out if the bowl sometimes when they must think I'm not looking.

Haha.. I must say I am glad to see I am not the only one having a hard time getting my juvi beardies to eat greens... I feed the dubia as much as possible so I found it good to chop broccoli florets really small and the dubia will gather on it like egg crate and dragons eat the whole piece. I usually use smaller dubia then normal when using the broccoli. But really no luck...

What upsets me is that when she was younger she used to eat all the greens I'd put in front of her. She'd even eat out of my hand. I was excited that I had a juvi dragon that actually liked greens as well as her live food. Now I have a 19 month old that will only eat her greens if I trick her!

I hope Kevin doesn't get this way! He loves his greens.. But I have a feeling he mostly eats when hand fed... Maybe its just me not seeing it but after we started hand feeding I feel like I never see him use his dish and stuff is always dried in the bottom when I go back.. Spoiled much? Hahaha

They get spoiled fast! The funny thing is my little boy Luci refuses to hand feed, unless it's hornworms. I tried to give him salad and he refuses to take it out of my hand but will chomp away at it in his bowl.
