Hello! I got a bearded dragon yesterday; I decided to get him last week, he is missing some of his back toes and was up for adoption as a result, and nobody wanted him; Poor guy! I figure, I already have everything I'd need to keep one at home and I didn't want him growing in a tank too small in an adoption room, so I brought him home. He doesn't have any health issues, and he's still a little guy, so I can't believe nobody wanted him! I have his UVB/UVA lighting on order and should have it Friday, so for the next few days he's making due with an UTH and a regular bulb as a basking spot.

He's a great eater so far; Happily ate all of the salad, pellets and small crickets I have given him; He's in a 20g long for now (he's only 3 inches long,) and I'll build him a nice custom cage in the summer when he's getting too big for this one.

He is VERY social, I love it! I hope he never changes! I fell in love with him because every time I'd walk by his adoption tank at work, he'd run to the glass and stare at me, and climb up my arm every time I put it in there. He'd happily spend hours curled up on my shoulder while I was working.

How could nobody want a pet like that?!

No questions yet, but I wanted to find a nice community BEFORE I had questions so I didn't have to search :D Without further adeu,

A quick pose in the kitchen because I just couldn't get enough lighting for a good photo in his tank.

And I know his tank still needs some work, but this was a pretty quick setup :p

He's a handsome boy. :) And he's lucky to have been rescued. He'll be much happier now that he's got someone who cares for him.

Allie wants to sit on my chest, flattened out most of the time. Some of the time, she's running all around looking at her surroundings. Curious bearded dragon acts like a toddler most of the time. :)

... I never knew how adorable a lizard could be.

He has already learned how to be lazy. When I put crickets in, instead of chasing them, he goes and lays in his pellet/salad bowl and just waits until a cricket comes to look for food and then eats him. He just waits there. Laziness is adorable in animals.

I just wish I could think of a name!
