How does your bearded dragon enjoy his bathtime?

When i take him out of his cage and carry him down the stairs, he starts getting super excited. he perks up and looks right at the bathroom. When I start running the water, he can barely wait to jump in. He always tries to scratch his way off of my hands into the bath from about 3 feet up. I set him in the tub and he splashes right towards the faucet, which i always leave running at a very low flow rate because he loves to play under it. The drain is activated by a switch on that silver thingy below the faucet, so the water hits the switch and breaks up into little droplets that he sits under. He'll do this for 10 or 15 minutes, then its poo time, or rather attempt to poo time, as my beardie has been impacted recently ): He swims around in the tub and scratches all over for whatever reason. When he wants to get out he starts climbing at the walls. I put my hand in the tub and he climbs on. I carry him back to his cage and he dries off under his basking light. He loves his baths.

Mine enjoy bath time too ever since we started doing it in the bath tub. I think because it has more room to play. Luci used to hate it but now he drinks and swims around. Dexter has always liked it and she will put her head up and kinda march around in the water, it's real cute. Our shower head is removable and turns into a handheld, Dexter likes to sit underneath the spray. She has a little game where she keeps inching forward so the spray hits her whole body LOL!

Izzy loves her daily bath time as well, she has ever since I got her.. She splashes around :) like a water treadmill on the sides of the sink. Now that she is bigger the kitchen sink is her tub as we no longer have a tub...I think the funniest thing is when she gets into the "deep end" lol she poofs up like a lizard balloon and swims like a alligator back into the shallow end... hahaha makes me laugh every time I'll lead her back into the deep end with her hanging onto my finger then she swims back kinda like a tow line lol... For her within the first 5 min of being in the water she poo's so I don't fill it very much until she does then rinse and fill for swim time. When she's done she just stares at me and just wants to crawl up my hand then arm...I wrap her up in her towel and dry her off then back to her basking spot to rest.

what do you think is the best way to clean poo out of the tub? Every time my guy has gone its been suuuper hard to get out in a clean manner.

I guess that's 1 of the big reasons I am glad we don't have a tub anymore as they drain slow so clean up is also slow and smelly.. In the sink it drains really quickly...

I have a handheld shower sprayer so when Dexter starts to poop I take the drain out and let the water run out, pushing the poop down the drain with the sprayer. When bath is over I spray the whole tub down with vinegar and water and let it sit awhile before rinsing out.

Omg Vader absolutely hates it! As soon as I put him in he is scratching at the sides to get out but since he doesnt drink out of his water bowl he will just have to suffer through it lol.

I make full use of bath time :) good for hydration/shedding, where Izzy prefers to poo, and where I give her some exercise time swimming and running around. But I can tell when she's done as I get the dragon stink eye.

Bubba hates it but if I let him rest on my hand in the water he's fine. I don't think he was bathed when younger. I have to bath him. Sometimes he gets Poop on his tail. Lol

Jim got a bath yesterday, he was shedding (2nd time since we got him last month). This was his 1st bath that I know of and he wasn't real keen on it. However after he went back into his enclosure the skin just fell off in a about an hour. He looks really bright and colorful.

I love seeing their new colors after they shed!

How often do they shed? My BP when I had him would shed about every 3 months. Is the the same for beardies?

It varies. Little ones can be in constant shed for months. Older ones can go months without shedding. My 2 and 3 year old now shed only parts of their body every so many months.

My beardie doesn't seem to like being in the bath. He doesn't move when he is it the bath tub but when i put him in a 'baby bath' that is about his body length long he just wants to climb out. How can I make him enjoy his baths and how often should I bathe him?

When you put him in the tub, put something he can climb on in there like a resin branch or something. This way he can get up out of the water if he wants too and you can run water over his back. After awhile you can eventually just put him in the tub by himself and he should be relaxed.
