How does everyone keep waxworms?

So I finally found a small pet store that actually had actually LIVE waxworms! They get them every week unlike some chain stores....for those who keep them how do you store them longer time? I know at room temp they will morph, too cold they will die (which is what I think happens to the chain stores) they say to keep around 55°
I've tried the coolest part of the basement yet it is still too warm, the butter compartment is still too cold. I am now trialling a Styrofoam container on the bottom shelf of the fridge (older fridge so its colder at the top)
Your thoughts or suggestions are welcomed..

Hmm, I just keep them on a shelf in my fridge.
