How do I know a dragon is healthy.

Hi I need to know what a healthy baby dragon would look like. I have to buy from petco/petsmart my parents won't let me get a dragon from any where else.

Hi! I just got my first beardie 4 days ago! He is 3 weeks old! Crazy! Anyways... a healthy baby bearded dragon should have some red around it’s ears. If it has big bumps on its skin or mits you need to get him checked out ASAP! If he has red around his nose or eyes he is most Likley sick. If he is not eating or pooping it could be that time where beardies “hibernate” they sit in a comfortable spot for a couple months. They rarely eat, drink, or poop. So if that happens that could very possibly be it. If it goes on longer get him checked out. Beardies from persmart aren’t very healthy. Any animal from persmart isn’t always the healthiest. So I would be patient and check to see if he is sick

Take a look at reptifiles.com and see if there's anything there about it. It's one of the most trustworthy sites, IMO.

A few basics - Check toes and tail for nips/black spots, bright and open eyes, look for one who is alert and not hiding.

One of the most important things - be sure to get a tube uvb light. Reptisun 10.0 is known to be one of the best. Without proper uvb, your dragon will get sick eventually even if it is healthy when you get it.
