HI,

MY NAME IS GREG. KINDA NEW TO BEARDIES BUT HAVE ALWAYS HAD FAMILY OR FRIENDS THAT HAVE OWNED THEM. JUST HAVE 1 AT THE MOMENT AND AM PLANNING ON PICKING UP ANOTHER ONE HERE SOON. NOT SURE HOW OLD OUR LITTLE ONE IS BUT HE IS WELL HIDING ALOT. JUST A COUPLE QUESTIONS. HE IS STILL VERY YOUNG AND WE HAD HIM IN A 10GALLON TANK AND I GOT A GOOD DEAL ON A 55 OR 60 GALLON.. NOT TO SURE. SO WE PUT HIM IN THAT.. HE IS NOT REALLY ACTIVE ANYMORE AND DOESNT EAT RIGHT AWAY... HAVE PLENTY OF LIGHT AND HEAT FOR HIM BUT HE JUST WANTS TO SIT IN THE HIDE THAT I HAVE ON THE HOT SIDE OF THE TANK OR UNDER THE BRANCH OF ONE OF THE LOGS ON THE HOT SIDE.. JUST WONDERING IF I SHOULD HAVE WAITED TO PUT HIM IN THE BIGGER TANK AS FOR HE IS TINY IN IT.

I'm actually having the same problem. I covered the sides and back and also put a cardboard divider in the middle of my 55 to make it a little smaller. He actually started moving around more within a couple hours but he still hides and won't eat much at all. Mine is about 6inches not sure of age was told by previous owner about 2-3 months. Has good basking and cool spots checked with a temp gun can get within inches of uvb light which is a tube so not to sure where to go next. I got him about a week ago so maybe he is still adjusting.

If you guys just got the dragons they need time to settle in and relax, they need about 14 days to calm down from the stress of relocation. Keep us updated on the babies :)

Mine moves around a little more still have not seen him eat but hes popping just fine. He sits with his chest pushed up on his branch when hes basking and his belly will be white and his back will be light colored but if I come in the room he kinda hides around the side of the branch and will turn darker also get stress marks in his belly. Is this normal? I would assume he should get used to us at some point, but about how long? I've had him just about a month

Well when I first walk in or by him his chest and stomach will be white and if i stand there a min a watch him he turns dark and his belly gets dark with even darker lines almost looks like circles on his belly. I do hold him about 20 min or so a day and he seems fine after about 5-10 min. Today I had him on the blanket with me and he was trying to run all over, light colored looked good. Then put him in his cage and he turned dark again. I figured he likes it out of his cage which is fine with me but he still won't eat crickets that I've seen.
