I am new to the BD world. I have wanted one for a long time and will be getting my first one on Sat. I am adopting one a yr old from a lady that will be traveling and can't take him. I am so excited. I hope he gets used to us fast. I have read it is best to not hold them for a week or so until they get used to their new home. Is that true? Any other advise?

True! It is Best to keep handling to maintenance for the first week to 10 days for as stress free a transition as possible.
