Hey peeps. We got beardie last year for 13yo after much pestering. It appears to have become mine now as it's me who makes sure she is well looked after. Never thought I'd like a reptile but I love her. :)

Welcome! I think for most people the animal starts out as a "pet" for their child and then becomes theirs! Bearded Dragons are easy to fall in love with.

That's my story! Lol bought my son a baby Beardie, baby water dragon, and baby ball python for his bday a couple months ago....I absolutely fell in love with all of them. I hate to be biased, but I must admit the Beardie is my favorite! I think its absolutely necessary for parents to be involved in the care anyways. That's a huge responsibility for a child. Its a little more work than I expected with 3 new babies at once, but what an incredible bonding experience for my boy and I. Teaching him lots of responsibility at a young age.

He'll do the basics but has to be pestered to clean the poop, look after the crickets etc. He's nearly 14. I do it with him to make sure it's done property. Unless she turns into an xbox controller he's not gonna pay her any more attention. :D Blizzard can be very funny. I laugh when I see her scurry across the floor. She also thinks we can't see her when she poses on the colourful picture frame I think. Lol
