Hi! :) I got two bearded dragons last month, one mine and one my brother's. They're two juveniles, and both female. Her name is Vitani. Anyways, I'm looking forward to becoming part of the bearded dragon world and learning all th at I can! :)

Yeah, we are housing them together. They're from the same litter, though, and we won't house them together after they're fully mature.

Whether they are from the same clutch, siblings or not, cohabitation is never, I repeat, never a good plan at any age or sex combination. It has been compared to playing Russian Roulette with your BDs health & wellbeing. It is by no coincidence that the pictures in the link provided to you, are of all ages, many of youngsters/hatchlings, injuries caused by siblings, please heed the message. Bearded Dragons have no familial ties. Please, for your BDs sake, separate them as soon as possible, don't wait for amputated limbs, tails or Worse.

You mentioned that you want to learn all you can, please don't learn this lesson the hard way, at your pets' expense.

Hey Germ.... What about breeding? I know most of the stuff you talk about breeding on here, but how long is safe when housing them together while breeding? And are you playing Russian Roulette as well during mating?

Breeding pairs should only be kept together for the time it takes to get the job done. Generally minutes to a week, then immediately separated. There is always the chance of injury while breeding. Their breeding act is not all lovey-dovey, but rather rough & violent, biting/scratching & holding down by skin, body parts in teeth.

The male holds the female down by biting the skin flaps on the back of the head, while positioning itself & performing the act, so I really don't think bagging the head would be an option.
