My name is Christina and I bought my first Bearded Dragon today at the New England Reptile Expo in NH. My brother owned one for years so I have indirect experience with them, plus I've been researching for the past 6 months. I personally have owned iguanas and a chameleon.
I have a Dubia Roach colony already for my African Bullfrog and fresh greens and veggies daily for my Leopard Tortoise and Eastern Box Turtle so I already have the food he needs at hand. I purchased some wax worms as well to make the move in easier, haha. I understand wax worms are NOT a staple i just want to fatten him up with a few every other day. I feed staple of dubia (with an earthworm every other day) with collard, mustard, or turnip greens. I alternate between buying a couple months worth of super worms, wax worms, and horn worms. I alternate calcium and multi vitamin supplements twice a week. I plan on bathing him every other day.
I have a regular incandescent bulb for basking which is 95°f and the cool side is 72°f. I ordered a t5 high output bulb and fixture that will arrive soon for uvb. I also have heat mat underneath the tank with a piece of slate on top for night warmth until the che gets shipped in. The top of the rock with just the heat mat is 82°f.... Is that too hot?

He is 6 months old, weighs 58.5g and is 11"
and he already ate some collard after his bath once at home
