Hi Aleena,

i've read your post about co-habitation and i can assure you that mine co-habit very well together. Most of the time they are quite calm, especially my male Bob. Even in reproduction period i find him very gentle with Pupuce.

I have two lizards with a very good caracter and i even have an Uromastyx with them and everybody are friends, no agressivity, no violence at all... I think that if i had to face the problem, i would try lowering a bit the tempereature, which is supposed to calm them even more, but now they have 2X100W light bulb and they are doing great.

But i thank you very much for the tip of advice and i'll keep an eye for any kind of agressive behavior :D

Tnx to James Edward as well :D

Good looking Dragons ...

Coming from someone who has seen what "Happy" beardies have done to each other, even after years of living together, many times over, I would honestly never risk my animals.

You can expect to get some 'Flak' over it on this forum ;)

That sounds like a really good plan, inhibit the digestion process, rather than separate them, if & when the situation arises. In case you hadn't noticed, there is a touch of sarcasm there ;). Crap happens in a split second, too often without previous warning. Once it happens, it's too late to do anything about it. It's not like they are going to tell you, prior to chomping off their roomy's leg, tail or worse.

I wish your animals luck and I hope whatever may happen that you are prepared. Have seen too many keepers over the years, come home to carnage that they've never forgotten, because they tried to beat the odds.

I BELIEVE YOU CAN HOUSE BEARDED DRAGONS TOGETHER. YOU JUST NEED ALOT OF ROOM, SO THEY CAN GET AWAY FROM EACH OTHER. I KEPT MY BEARDED DRAGONS IN THE SAME TANK FOR A LONG TIME NOW AND THEY HAVE NEVER HAD THAT CRUEL WAY. IF THEY WANT TO BE AWAY FROM EACH OTHER, ONE WILL BE ON A BRANCH AND ON WILL BE SOMEWHERE ELSE. NOT A BIGGY. (NEED ALOT OF SPACE)

Are you intending to have caps lock on, Vincent? And have you watched the co-habitation slide show? There are obvious signs of these animals showing domination and then there are more subtle ones. You have to be able to pay close attention and will usually notice that one is being kept from an optimal basking spot, or is left with being unable to eat the greens until the other has eaten, even the cute stacking that they do is a show of dominance and usually a play for the better basking spot and to keep the other out of the basking light. In the wild these animals don't come around each other except to breed. Being around other dragons stresses them out and you will usually wind up with one being smaller, lower weight, or generally more unhealthy even if they aren't at each others throats but you don't have to take my word for it.

Please, MaYaka, don't lower the temps. It can and will interfere with their digestive processes which will also affect their health. Do you know what your basking temps are right now?

I agree on the Caps, why the Yelling around Vincent ;).

While everyone is entitled to their own opinion ... It is my opinion, that your opinion on the subject, is not in the best interest of the health & wellbeing of your or anyone elses BDS & is self-serving. Cohabitation can be very detrimental & dangerous. Keepers that do it, do it for their own reasons, whether it be cost or room effectiveness, viewing pleasure, whatever. But in no way is it for the Dragons good. If one is on the basking branch & keeping the other from basking, how is that good. Multiple Basking Spots generally won't work either, BDs will want things just because the other has it. There can only be one King or Queen of the Castle, the rest are submissives & it is not in a BD's nature to be submissive, so no matter how you look at it, it adds to the stress levels. Even if you don't notice it now, it will almost assuredly, shorten the over all life expectancy in the long run.

The point trying to be made is that co-habitating dragons is not a good idea. Just about anything that you read will state that putting dragons together is not good. In a split second a dragon can lose a foot, a tail, a toe because one of the dragons is the dominant and the other one isn't. If you do a search on this forum, or anywhere on the internet, about co-habitation of beardies, I think you will find it isn't a good idea. Somewhere on this forum are very good pictures about what happens when dragons co-habitate. They made me sick to my stomach. Can someone repost those pictures for Vincent so he can see? Thanks.
This forum has very good and knowledgeable members that give good solid advice should you ask a questions or have a concern. Do what is right for your beardies so they will be healthy and happy.
Just a little hint....when you type in all caps that 'means' that you are yelling....

If you happened to have hit the back button to correct it, the new post won't show up unless you refresh the page, that may be what happened ...
